In Italy now or planning a trip there over Memorial Day weekend? This Sunday, May 27 could be an excellent day to make a visit to a winery.

Every year on the last Sunday in May, wine producers participating in the “Cantine Aperte” initiative open their doors to the public. Last year, an estimated 800 wineries welcomed around one million tourists on just this one day. Some participating establishments couple wine tasting with cultural events or regional culinary specialties.
