NFL in London
Posted June 15th, 2007 by Karen BradburySo you thought you had no chance of witnessing that historic event, the first-ever NFL game to be played outside of North America. The game between the Miami Dolphins and the New York Giants takes place at London’s Wembley Stadium on Oct. 28. The first batch of 40,000 tickets was snapped up in just 90 minutes, and while a second batch will go on sale June 28, the only people eligible to purchase them will be the winners of a lottery who had first expressed their interest in tickets at www.nfluk.com when the game was announced in February. If you did register back then, and you win the right to purchase tickets during the second release, you can expect to receive an e-mail within seven days of the sale date containing the password to be used on the Ticketmaster Web site -- so check your e-mail, even if you’re on vacation, and keep your fingers crossed.
If you didn’t register, there’s still a way to get a ticket to the game. Big Blue Travel, a provider of professional sports tours, is offering Giants fans a package deal that includes hotel accommodations at the Kensington Hilton, a double-decker tour of London hosted by former player Harry Carson and friends, a tailgate party and a host of extras -- along with a guaranteed game ticket. And they’ve thrown in a discount for troops stationed in Europe. Check out its flier!
