Upcoming travel related fairs

What’s the next best thing to traveling? Well, plotting your next trip ranks right up there.

Those living not too far from Frankfurt, Germany, might want to consider heading to the Viva Touristika & Caravaning Expo taking place Friday through Sunday, Nov. 2-4. Program information on the Web site is in German only, but areas in the spotlight appear to be Nepal, Namibia, Canada and the Black Forest. It’s taking place in Hall 3 of the Frankfurt Messe from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily. Adult entry costs 6 euros.

If you’re farther south in Germany, you could alternately visit Ulm’s Caravan, Camping and Travel fair, to be held Nov. 8-11 at the city’s Messegelande. The program looks to be similar to that of Frankfurt’s.

If you’re UK-based and a skier or a snowboarder, take a detour to Birmingham en route to the Alps and check out the British Ski and Snowboard Show from Nov. 2-4. There you can find performance demos, equipment, clothing and information on ski holidays. The show runs from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on both Saturday and Sunday; on Friday, it starts at noon. Admission is 11 pounds for adults, 2 pounds for children ages 5 to 15.
