So they’ve mapped out five different shopping routes based on various styles, from classic to “world fusion fashion.” The Convention and Visitors Bureau publishes a "Shopping Book" to help you find essential addresses. And hotels and restaurants lay on the specials to further entice visitors.

The Web site www.shoppingbyparis.com is a good place to start planning your trip in earnest. Are you thinking about taking the train down? If so, better get booking. As of this writing, it was still possible to snag one-way tickets from Stuttgart, Germany, to Paris on an early morning ICE train for the last weekend in January at fares starting at 39 euros. But those cheap seats go fast, so do move quickly.  Ready, set, shop!
