Far East High School Basketball Tournaments 2.0: What we learned Tuesday

Why have some teams that rely on strong post play been forced to shoot from outside this week?

Perhaps it's the game-changing big people on Far East High School Basketball Tournament team rosters. Folks such as Kadena's Jasmine Taylor (15 blocked shots vs. Yokota), Daegu American's Drew Snowden (four blockeds vs. Hokkaido International) or Nile C. Kinnick's Shannon Jackson (19 points, 19 rebounds vs. CAJ). And future stars, such as Zama American's Mike Jorgenson.

Read their story here and get Day 2's full-field results here.

SAHS's dominating performance

Dave,

Back in the '80s, Seoul had “THREE” boys basketball teams, and our “All-Star” team was put together only a wk or two prior to the Far East tournament. Needless to say, we were OK within KAIAC, but never a dominating force at the Far East.

To an old grad, it brings quite of joy to witness both SAHS boys and girls dominating this year’s tournament.
