Gad, did summer roll by too quickly or what?
Anyway, same stuff, different year. Time for ORNY to put his best pigskin prognosticator's pod forward and try to discern who'll do what on the gridiron. Without the use of Ouija boards, tea leaves and crystal balls, here it comes again:
Japan
Friday
Yokota at Nile C. Kinnick, 7 p.m. -- Berkey-by-the-Bay's field turf should get a good running workout thanks to the visiting Panthers' Tony Presnell and Derick "Rookie" Seward and the Red Devils' twosome of Donavan Brown and speedster Tyree Hunt. But as ORNY has said repeatedly, Yokota, with its nine straight league titles and 48-game regular-season winning streak, is the champ until somebody knocks them off ... Panthers 21, Red Devils 17.
Robert D. Edgren at Zama American, 7 p.m. -- The "Fantastic Four" may be gone, but there's a lot of championship pride, two Class A titles' worth, left in Eagles country. Strong on defense and in the line, Edgren will very likely give fits to Emmanuel Sloan and the host Trojans ... Eagles 18, Trojans 10.
Guam
Friday
Simon Sanchez vs. Father Duenas Memorial at George Washington High School, Mangilao, 7 p.m. -- Defending champion Friars still remain one of the island's big two along with George Washington, Sharks hoping to regain heights last seen in the 1990s ... Friars 13, Sharks 6.
Saturday
Southern at George Washington, 7 p.m. -- Dethroned after four years as island champion, host Geckos now hope to settle the score and begin by devouring a veritable opening-night feast, with Dolphin as the main course. ... Geckos 24, Dolphins 8.

Orny-
I agree, it is going to be a running showdown! The best defensive team will win the game. Yokota's backfield is ready to run...Presnell, Seward, Harvin and Daley are hungry for the end zone! As well as Conklin and big bro Seward on the line ready to ignite!
Good luck to Hunt as he leads the Devils... but not to a victory!
Play hard and safe and let's keep this between on the field...let the players decide the game!
Panthers 21 Devils 17
Word on the street
From what my people tell me, Kinnick is much improved. The young team from last year is back and better. It could be a very exciting game. Yokota at Kinnick is always a thrilling game.
