Fearless Football Forecast, Week 5
Posted September 24th, 2007 by Dave OrnauerAlways a first time for everything -- a perfect 6-0 week, first of the season, leaving ORNY at 19-4, 82.6 percent on the campaign.
Here we go with Week 5 prognostication:
Friday
Japan
Yokota vs. Zama American at Atsugi Naval Air Facility, 7 p.m. -- It's been five years since Yokota's faced a Zama team that's won two or more consecutive games. The Trojans are back; the Panthers have won 43 straight in the regular season, and are still the champs until somebody knocks them off ... Yokota 16, Zama American 13.
Robert D. Edgren at Nile C. Kinnick, 7 p.m. -- Coming off two heartbreaking, one-point defeats, the Eagles would love nothing more than to take it out on the Red Devils on the Kinnick Karpet ... but can they shut down Tyree Hunt? ... Nile C. Kinnick 18, Robert D. Edgren 15.
South Korea
Seoul American at Osan American, 6 p.m. -- Visiting Falcons keep working toward what they hope is a third straight Class AA championship game bid; long season continues for rebuilding host Cougars ... Seoul American 20, Osan American 12.
Guam
Simon Sanchez vs. Father Duenas Memorial at George Washington High School, Mangilao, 7 p.m. -- Only one unbeaten team will remain after this evening. Will Williams and Friars prove too much for Sharks ... Father Duenas Memorial 17, Simon Sanchez 10.
Saturday
Guam
Guam High at George Washington, 7 p.m. -- Panthers fell to the Friars a week ago; thus, Paul Craimins and the Panthers go for another school first -- beating four-time defending league champion Geckos for first time in school history. Upset special ... Guam High 16, George Washington 15.
Southern at John F. Kennedy, 7 p.m. -- Dolphins prevail in a battle of the island's winless. ... Southern 8, John F. Kennedy 6.
What are you picks? Come on strong! And remember -- you've entered THE "no-hate zone." *smile*

mainland predictions
Yokota 23 Zama 13 zama is getting better, but yokota is not ready to be beat yet. the time will come soon enough though.
Edgren 28 kinnick 32 this game will be higher scoring. kinnick is ready to put another win under there belt, and edgren cant seem to win at there field. this game will be intense, but in the end i think the red devils will pull an upset.
Edgren gets one on the road!
This was big for the Eagles. Under coach Chris Waite, they'd yet to win one on the road, and to do it against the Red Devils on the Kinnick Karpet ... that was big.
Yokota 42 Zama 7 / Edgren 35 Kinnick 28
I think the defense of Yokota will prevail even more in this game. In the first match, one of their defensive players, McNeill, didn't play due to an injury. Lehnerd, Dailey and McNeill will dominate defense and McNeill, Presnell, Harvin, Williams and Seward will run the Trojans in the ground. Look for Yokota to do it on both ends...
Edgren will pull this one off...they are hungry after two defeats by one point. Morton and Lattimore will shake and bake a victory. Hunt will have a good game as well but it will not be enough. I agree it will be a high scoring game Edgren 35 Kinnick 28
You nailed it!
Good call, 2ndtime!
Here we go again
Japan:
Yokota over Zama......... Yokota was put of thier comfort zone last weekend only winning by 1 point.. Zama on a two-game winning steak...streak snaps on friday...Yokota wont let the Trojan hype get to them...Yokota wins BiGGGGGGG..
Edgren over Kinnick..........The Eagles are deperate for win and Senior Zach Latimore is going to give it to them......Eagles win a close one....
Korea:
Seoul over Osan...........Seoul like Yokota had a scary game last time they stepped foot on the gridiron, but the Falcons are better than that...Falcons win on a big note to get back on track!
Guam:
George Washington over Guam High.............Panthers are overated..... Geckos dominate...
JKF over Southern................Battle of the winless....its a toss up....could care less who wins this one.....
Father Duenas not undefeated
Just FYI, Father Duenas Memorial forfeited its 27-0 win over John F. Kennedy because they used an ineligible player. According to Independent Interscholastic Athletic Association of Guam vice president and schedule maker Martin Boudreau, FD was up front about it and forfeited the game without a tussle. That leaves Simon Sanchez as the league's only unbeaten team.
Good going!
MyPointOfView hit the Friday trifecta. Good going!
