Fearless Football Forecast, Week 7

Into the home stretch, and with playoff spots up for grabs, things begin to get very intense this week.

Ornauer rebounded nicely with his second 6-0 ledger of the season, putting him at 28-7 thus far, an even 80 percent.

Here we go with Week 7:

Friday
Japan
Yokota at Nile C. Kinnick, 7 p.m.--Panthers, 6-0 with that 45-game regular-season winning streak under their belts, seal a trip to the Class AA semifinal Nov. 3 at Guam High without worry about tiebreakers, and gain a season sweep of the Red Devils ... Yokota 22, Nile C. Kinnick 14.
Okinawa
Kadena at Kubasaki, 7 p.m.--Both teams in rebuilding mode. Yes, that was Kadena coach Sergio Mendoza and offensive coordinator Steve Schrock in the stands watching Saturday's Kubasaki-Yokota game intently. Give Kubasaki the edge here, for it being Dragons homecoming and having one more game under its belt than the Panthers ... Kubasaki 16, Kadena 15.
Guam
Father Duenas Memorial at John F. Kennedy, 7 p.m.--Friars continue to assert their dominance and take one more step toward ending George Washington's Purple Reign ... Father Duenas Memorial 23, John F. Kennedy 9.

Saturday
South Korea
Taegu American at Osan American, 2 p.m.--Warriors have to go on the road to do it, but they'll seal their first berth in the Nov. 3 Class A championship game, ending the Cougars' two-year run in the title clash ... Taegu American 18, Osan American 11.
Japan
Robert D. Edgren at American School In Japan, 1 p.m.--Possible for Eagles to make it two straight road wins and eight victories in their last 11 games? ... Robert D. Edgren 20, American School In Japan 12.
Guam
George Washington at Southern, 10 a.m.--Despite the mid-day heat, Geckos shouldn't break much of a sweat winning their fifth straight ... George Washington 21, Southern 7.
Simon Sanchez vs. Guam High at Blue Jacket Field, Naval Station "Big Navy," 7 p.m.--A huge game for the Panthers. Will some of their injured players, noteably quarterback Paul Craimins, recover in time to try to stave off the Sharks' big for a season series sweep? ... Simon Sanchez 19, Guam High 18.

What are your picks? Hit the keyboard and sound off! And remember -- you have entered THE "No-Hate Zone." *smile*

Here We go Again!

Japan:
Yokota over Kinnick..........Panthers are to good on the ground...to many weapons.....Yokota big...

Edgren over ASIJ.........Eagles are getting ready for another meeting against the Panthers.....

Okinawa:
Kubasaki over Kadena......Kubasaki showed some sign of promise in their loss to Yokota last week....Bennett will bring the first game of the series to the Dragons..

Korea:
Daegu over Osan.......Daegu is FA REAL.......their D is VERY fast and they can hit.....watch out for antonio harris...he is a beast.....they clinch the small schools birth in this one..and will end up beating edgren....

Guam:
Gw over southern.......Gw wins cause there just flat out better.

Sanchez over Guam high........To much hype for the panthers...their not even that good.

Yokota Over Kinnick

Yokota going to win no doubt but the defense had to step up better than last week to stop tyree hunt and t.j jones kota 50 kinnick 7

yup thats how its gonna be

yup thats how its gonna be but i think they will get 14 points and kota will get 56

dawg deagu is not all that

dawg deagu is not all that good of a team osan is a young team most of the team is freshmen but i think osan can beat them

dude...

... you're saying osan is a young team so that makes taegu less of a threat? alright first thing, taegus team has been young for the last couple years, LAst year they didnt have one single senior who played.. and Taegu did give a some good competition to Seoul this year even though they didn't win . Taegu's defense definatley held them back.. If you want to talk age wise... Osan came strong with their seniors last year, when taegu was only made up of the better part of underclassmen... Ironically the tables turned this year... So thats something for you to think about when you want to underestimate Taegu..

Taegu's got everything they need to beat Edgren.

Oh yea.. you thought Osan could of beat Taegu.. They just shut them out 36-0 for Taegus Homecoming game.. they beat them all 3 games.... there ya go

Yokota 47 Kinnick13 /Edgren 52 ASIJ 6

Those 'backs of Yokota is going to have a field day on that new "Kinnick Karpet".
Edgren is going high step on that turf at ASIJ as well. Look for big yards from big players.

Yokota 29 kinnick 14 / Edgren 23 ASIJ 0

yokota is always ready to put a W under there belt, i think kinnick is discouraged this season with all of the L's on there record

Edgren will repeat last years victory over ASIJ, their self esteem is growing, and they are getting ready to stick it to yokota by ear holing every one of them

Yokota are ALWAYS ready...as you say...

Yokota will be ready on Friday...guarantee it. Edgren is a talented and hard hitting team...maybe (from what I've seen) the two best teams in the Pacific...Certainly, if you combined them (total of less than 700 students), they would beat any "big school" team in the Pacific...Kadena, Seoul...no contest.

Kubasaki Homecoming

Kubasaki will bounce back from last week's loss to Yokota and will run all over Kadena this Friday. They will have to overcome the loss of Bennett...but this team will regroup and show up ready to go on the 12th. Kubasaki wants another shot at Yokota...and they are looking forward to seeing them again in the Far East playoffs

Yokota @ Kinnick

35-15, Big game offensively for both teams, but Yokotas defense will outplay kinnick, and have fewer turn overs

osan cougars

i believe that osan is going to be the one to go to the championship and win it all the reason i said that is because they never give up if they did they wouldn't be playing any games now so i really believe in the team or else i wouldnt be playin for them

thats a lot of heart, and

thats a lot of heart, and thats what usually wins games... but when your cocky you will end up like last year in a 25-0 lost. thats if you even get there... but good luck

yeah cougar, much to say

yeah cougar, much to say about your loyalty to your team, but the talent and the skill has to step up on the field...falcons and warriors got your number this season. we'll see you in a couple days

we want another shot at the

we want another shot at the falcons... 3-0... and touchdowns called back there too .. next year then...time to concentrate on upcoming games

majoryellowcard..............

majoryellowcard..............yeah we want another shot at taegu as well because they are a good team and it will only help us get better as we get ready for far east, but the first time we played we had two touchdowns called back from are all ready 19 pts...coulda have easily been 30 something to 12.........Then this past weekend...you guys played a hell of a game....., but i have to be honest, more than half the team took the SAT's that day and it got out at 1 and had to turn right back around to play the game at 2...thats exaushting on your mind and that did hurt us.......Yeah angel did have his punt return called back, but thats how the game goes...it happend to us as well........But yeah nothing against yall...i think you guys will win the Class A...

yeah why IS the season so

yeah why IS the season so short? we should all play each other 3X - even if we werent playing well - or had a "developing team" that was getting creamed each game...
hte first game we played was more of a mudslugfest - i dont remember any TDs called back (but I am biased) - but it was a good game. we had the same situation with the SATs and had to travel 5 hours to boot just to get there - but thats all part of student athletics and should have no bearing on how well anyone "shoulda" played....
good luck at double A - all the Japanese and Guam schools are making the news - Korea has to show who's boss...

Yeah our season is

Yeah our season is short...but thats just the way things are in korea...when korea football first started up in 03-04 we only used to play 4 games a season so its a lot better then it used to be...

Back to the games.......haha yeah in the first game Burns td run got called back in the 3rd quarter when number 88 ( joe mcLean) was called for holding and then late in the 4th tez johnson's fumble recovery got called back for clipping....so yeah.....but come on....yeah yall have that 5 hour bus ride..but you guys came the night before the game....

Korea never really gets recognized for how they play on gridiron..everything is about the JFL, but thats just an extra motivator for us....ever since far east started..we been to both championship games and i dont see nobody stopping us from going back....Yokota and Kadena know were a legit team...

Anthony McNeill

Congrats to my little brother for getting Pacific Athlete of the week. Maybe i am biased, but i think it was long deserved. He has been performing like that and better since his sophmore year and never got that honor until now. I am proud of him and look for him to perform even better in the upcoming weeks.

McNeill

I concur!!! An outstanding player!

Kubasaki Homecomming

There's no reason why Kadena should lose to Kubasaki. If you base them off stats, Kadena has Kubasaki beat.

taegu at osan

a lot of people can say what they want to say about us...its going to take a lot of heart to beat taegu cause we dont plan on giving up to osan or any one else so let it be known to everybody at every school taegu will not give u anything easy.....................

Kadena-Kubasaki

Kadena 45 Kubasaki 0

Friday doings

Kadena 45, Kubasaki 0? No way, if you had asked me before that contest.

Yokota 38, Nile C. Kinnick 20. Panthers win ninth straight JFL title, but they had their hands full with Red Devils.

Father Duenas Memorial 34, John F. Kennedy 8. Very much expected.

Taegu holds off Osan, earns the right to host Class A final

Just to keep it fair and balanced...

This game could have went either way. Osan came out with a strong running game and basically dominated the running game throughout. Daegu had no answer for Osan's inside running game. It is when Osan tried to go wide that Daegu's speedy defense was able to run them down. Daegu's run game was basically shut down. Daegu's QB made some nice passes on their scoring drive that led to the TD. The 2-point conversion was tipped in the end zone and deflected right to a Daegu player. Hickman was being dragged down and he just flung it towards the endzone....and the rest is history. After Osan's TD they actually made the 2-point conversion, but it was called back on a holding penalty and they failed on the second attempt. Hickman made some big plays on defense for the Warriors. Osan had it's chances, but just couldn't break the big play. Osan used all it's timeouts early in the second half and could do nothing but stand by and watch as the final minute ticked off the clock.

I think it's exciting to have Daegu in the Class A championship. This is big for Daegu. I think Daegu will hold its own in the championship game, but I'm worried about their offensive output. Daegu is averaging only 8.25 points a game this year, but their defense is only yielding an average of 7 points a game. I think Edgren is averaging 21 points a game and yielding on average 13.8 points a game. It should be a good one in Daegu.

wish i was there to see the

wish i was there to see the game FaB. Great exciting HS games are made with tipped passes, QBs making passes as they are being tackled, time management, penalties, flexibility in using your other weapons, etc etc... In the end the scoreboard shows the better team for the day. Their last game next week should be a good game played for pride.
Far East should also be a good one as you say - everyone come on down to cheer the Korea team.
