Pacific high school soccer ratings, pre-Spring Break edition

The big Class A vs. Class AA showdown in the Kanto is done, some international schools are out on spring break, with DODDS-Pacific schools to follow next week. Not much change in the pecking order.

Heeeeeeeeeeeeeeeere we go:

How is it CAJ is rank #1??????

1, Christian Academy In Japan (0-0) -- Still has yet to take the field????

So what you are saying is this team that hasn't played a game, hasn't proved anything, is better then say a team who has played eleven games and is yet to lose???? Come on Dave you are not the a BCS computer you can't fool us. If they haven't played they shouldn't be in the standings. GO ZAMA!!!

Re: How is it CAJ is rank #1??????

Far East Class AA Tournament champion in 2007, runner-up last year (lost an epic 1-0 match to Kubasaki on a golden goal in the FOURTH overtime period), CAJ's career goal-scoring leader Leo Kobayashi (82 goals) returns along with 13 of 17 players who saw playing time in Knights unform last year.

No rating system, BCS or otherwise, is entirely accurate or foolproof. Examine the whole body of work over a 28-year period and see if there's anybody else out there who has been a more accurate judge. My own counsel I keep on who is to be rated and not rated; I'm very comfortable with the ratings as published here. *smile*

Correction: Yokota's only

Correction: Yokota's only 5-3.. at the moment :)
and CAJ does deserve to be ranked #1

Let the Dave worship begin...

Here we go, Dave is always right...well sometimes...just don't rank teams when haven't played. It seems a little assuming. I think the teams that have played deserve more respect then that.

Re: Let the Dave worship begin...

Coach:

Based on that logic, The Associated Press, the Harris Foundation and ESPN-USA Today should never publish preseason media and coaches polls for football and basketball, n'est-ce pas? *smile*

DISCLAIMER: That's something I've been advocating for years; college preseason polls are extremely Shakespearean, much sound and fury, signifying nothing.

There. We agree on something. *ROFL*

Oh, and yes, Ornauer is ALWAYS right. He may be misinformed, inexact, bullheaded, fickle, egomaniacal, biased, even abnormally vapid, but NEVER, EVER wrong. *grin*

LOL!!!

Just one counter point the AP, Harris, and ESPN-USA Today preseason polls are just that preseason. No one has played yet. We have teams with ten or more games under their belt; undefeated; etc and you rank someone who hasn't played one game above them.

By the way Dave I do appreciate what you do, but with out us keeping you honest and you keeping us honest this would be much of a blog. Keep up the good work.

Re: LOL!!!

It's all good. At the end of the day, nothin' but love for you and everybody for making SportsBlog Nation what it's become. :)

CAJ

They deserve the top spot. Although they havnt played yet, you will see that once they play they will prove that they deserve #1.

Re: CAJ

Knights opened their season by beating No. 6 Kinnick 4-1 on Wednesday at CAJ. Leo Kobayashi two goals, two assists.

All the hype

With all this hype at this point nothing short of Far East Champs would be failure....1-0....we will see...
