but for this...gona go with seoul..hmm
gosh i love these blogs =)
Re: poll for wrestlin at kinnick? oh n seoul
By poll, you mean for individual weight classes who's going to win?
I think I can manage that. :)
awesome
the team prediction would be good.. but the individual would be awesome!. both haha;)
thanks dave.. ur the best;P
SAHS wins it..
I think this tournament will also give us a pretty good insight into who the favorites are for the Far East tournament. If you look at who attended the Holiday tournament in Hong Kong and then this tournament it encompasses pretty much the Far East attendees minus the Guam teams. This tournament should give us an idea if anyone out there can stay with SAHS.
YOKOTA REMAINS UNDEAFEATED
This New Years Classic Tournament in Kinnick will determine the best of the best! Yokota will become this basketball seasons "team to beat".
Able to score, Kirby, Harvin and Brown, this team will also make opponets pay for coming to play them with the very strong and consistant defense they arm themselves with! Yokota will win the Kinnick Tournament.
And they will fight with everything they have to get there: teamwork, strongwill and heart.
Much as I like Yokota...
I think that it's going to be Seoul.
And nothing against Yokota (used to live there) - but they haven't played Kadena and Seoul - who are currently the teams to beat in the Pacific.
I'd prefer Yokota, or Kadena, but I think it's gonna be Seoul.
So - how does Ettl feel about playing down in Kinnick? I remember that fiasco they called a game last year just before Christmas.
Re: Much as I like Yokota...
Based on the conversation we had Friday evening at what amounted to an icebreaker, I'd speculate that last year's 'fiasco' is long forgotten. Let's look ahead to what I feel will be a great weekend of basketball. :)
you're right
Ettl is a class act - I'm sure it was like water on a ducks back.
ok - I stand corrected
Sounds like Yokota is now the team to beat - apparently they beat Seoul - and have a couple of new players fresh from the states.
I also heard Bradley Forbes is back in Yokota.
Yokota wins classic
Yokota 46, ASIJ 38 to complete "Mike's Marathon," as it's being called.
More details in a blog post upcoming Monday.
Yokota wins Classic
I have not seen any of these teams play, but sounds by following each the teams performances at this tournament, Kinnick may be the best team to beat Yokota.
WILL NOT FAULTER
I do agree, Kinnick is a team that Yokota loves to play, and it seems when the two play eachother, there is no better match up. It will be YOKOTA who remains the "team to beat", taking in account that their record is untouchable, including the tournament, zero losses. Their skill will not run to their heads, and their teamwork will not faulter; likewise, when it comes time for Far East 2009, Yokota will be a force in contending a perfect season, clitching 2 tournament championships and a record untouched by many, just a prediction.
Everything is still up in the air....
I'm not going to put a lot of stock in trying to determine who the team to beat is based on the New Years Classic. The games weren't played with the normal minutes during the pool play, it was a lot of games in 2-days, and key players were missing from various teams.
I think it was good experience for those teams that played, but there is still 2-months until Far East and much can happen in that time. SAHS will get Willie Brown (reigning Far East MVP and 2-time Hong Kong Classic MVP) and RaiDion Fails back (neither made the trip to the New Years Classic this year) and I believe Yokota will lose a player from their starting squad. Other teams will go through similiar challenges.
The above reasons are why I still think SAHS will win the Far East championship again this year.
Who will it be?
Sounds like it'll be very exciting down the strecth, Far East maybe worth the trip.
I say Yokota get's knocked off by either SAHS or Kinnick.
